Holy Moly!!! I am SO out of shape!

It’s kind of a slow time of the year here on the farm for us.  Well, mostly for me.  This is my time of year to get caught up on my housework and bookwork.  Plus I use it as my “time to catch up on my lounging around and doing nothing” time that I didn’t get to do all summer.  That being said, you can see, that other than the housework (and believe me when I say I do not make that to strenuous), I’m not getting a whole lot of physical activity right now.  This morning made me realize that it’s time to put some physical activity back into my routine.  My son took over plowing my snow plow route with my Farmer this morning, so that left me to do the morning feeding.  Which really isn’t that big of a deal because my Farmer has everything set up so there’s very little morning chores.  All I had to do was carry two buckets of grain to the steers…….up a hill, through the fresh new snow, all the way into the mucky corral.  I know! Right?!?! Terrible!  In all reality……..it was up an small incline, through 3 inches of powdery snow, into the corral about 6 feet.  It felt like I’d climbed a mountain, tromped through 10 inches of snow, and waded through muck for a mile! Really it did.  The thing though, is that it was amazing.  The world around me was blanketed with the fresh fallen snow. I was making new tracks in the undisturbed path.  The air around was crisp and clean. It was peaceful and yet energizing.  Well, until I walked into the corral.  It’s still mucky and smelly there.  I said to myself that I really should start doing this every morning.  It’s so beautiful.  Such a great way to start the day.  But then I thought, what would my Farmer do if I started doing his morning chores?  (He would be smiling and sitting in the house drinking coffee.)  Naw, I could never take this morning experience from him.  He loves it way to much I’m sure.  (Especially when it’s below zero and the winds blowing.)  Nope, I’ll be the one that stays home in the warm house with a cup of coffee. They have all kinds of work out videos on the TV that’ll help me get back in shape so I won’t be huffing and puffing the next time I need to do the chores for my Farmer.  It’ll all be good.  We’ll both be much happier this way, I’m sure.

While I was feeding and experiencing the wonderful, breathtaking (literally) morning, I wanted to take pictures to share. However, I had forgot my phone. Sorry, you don’t get to see what I was seeing.  I did take some photos when I got back home though.  So once again, they are photos from my yard.  I did take a few shots in a different direction though.  Hope you enjoy.  The view is still beautiful this morning no matter where I stand. Well, maybe not in the corral.

A few shots of my view………..Livin’ the Life, the Farm Life that is.
