I helped my Farmer preg test some old cows the other day. Most ranches do this every year. We do not. My Farmer usually is pretty aware of which cows are open (not pregnant), but this year we had a few that he wasn’t sure about; so comes the need for the preg test. Stressful Cow Watching
Holy Crapoly! One of those cows that my Farmer told me to keep my eyes on while he’s gone on his vacation was trying to prolapse this morning! That’s way worse then her calving! I got her up and made her walk around until it all went back in. If by chance you are wondering what a prolapse is, to explain it in my words, it’s when her insides are trying to come of her back end. In real terms, she tries pushing out her uterus. If she succeeds to push it out, we have to go through the process of pushing it back in and stitching her up. I…
