Stressful Cow Watching

Holy Crapoly! One of those cows that my Farmer told me to keep my eyes on while he’s gone on his vacation was trying to prolapse this morning! That’s way worse then her calving! I got her up and made her walk around until it all went back in. If by chance you are wondering what a prolapse is, to explain it in my words, it’s when her insides are trying to come of her back end. In real terms, she tries pushing out her uterus.  If she succeeds to push it out, we have to go through the process of pushing it back in and stitching her up. I have helped my Farmer a few times with this process and it’s not fun.  In fact, I have a really good story about one of those times so I may have to blog about that one of these days.  But for now, this old cow has all of her inside parts back inside where they belong and she better keep them there.  Nothing else if showing signs of calving, so all’s good again…..for now.  I am so glad my Farmer gets home tonight. This cow watching is becoming a bit stressful.  But that’s how it is when your Livin’ the Life, the Farm Life that is.   Don’t forget to check back in, cuz I promise, you won’t want to miss my prolapse story.
